Mountain Escapes

Our little family of four seized the Easter Holiday break and opportunity to have Marmee and Papa Mike with us and took a 3 day escape to the mountains.

we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. nothin like escapin. nothin like packing your cuties and talking the whole way up about things we are "going to do". Layla started even making up her own lyrics to tunes about "going on bacation".

The frenzy to go out the door and the amount of bags you end up taking is ridiculous. but stepping into the clean hotel room and dumping our bags and sighing because we have 3 days to just create wonderful moments together. extremely rewarding.

silly ol' Layla wanted me to carry her for a hike.
which meant little one was passed around. joyfully. we are enraptured with her delicious chubby cheeks, sparkly brown eyes, and trying to figure out what is going on her little brain these days.

We saw a lot of ways that she is more physically brave than layla was, and independent on this vacation.

But Layla, our brave little bear, wanted to ride a pony. And she picked this pony before we knew the pony's name: Layla. Layla was ecstatic.
I was beaming. I love seeing her love for adventure, adrenaline. I love seeing her be brave and try new things. and my SFR wrangler's heart was very proud.
we chatted to each other and chased kids on the play ground from heaven. Our girls mainly just utilize the house.

we took sunset hikes to admire God's stunning beauty here Lebanon.

and had the spontaneous idea to simulate an Easter hunt with our snacks and a plastic sac. My dad made fun of me the whole time, but Layla really jived with it.

" Hey mom, why don't we take a picture like i did the other time? like this?"
