Claire bear's first ballet class...
So i was thinking about my doll baby being in ballet. I thought it was a stretch to have a little toddler class here, but i started researching. I started calling. And let's just say that i called about 15 dance studios before i found one that:
1) let 3 year olds come
2) was a decent price
3) was on our side of town
we talked about it as we cuddled that night and read angelina ballerina to prepare. and she was so "scited " she could hardly sleep. then i heard her talking and telling her dolls that she was going to ballet class tomorrow.
IT was the first thing she said when she woke up. and as i dressed her and did a little bun, i just felt so happy that my little cutie was going go get to "be" a ballerina for an hour. i had no idea what to expect from the studio, but i know 3 year olds are not hard to please.
We left 45 minutes early, plenty of time in case the traffic was bad. The directions were pretty loose so we got lost. In the car, Layla kept saying " mama you can find, i know you can. you can do it, mama." and as soon as i found the studio she exclaimed " i knew you could find it mama!"
such faith, little one.
so then we arrive. And the class is basically 2 other little girls that are probably 7-8 years old. they are wearing cute sweat outfits and ballet slippers, as the teacher is. So claire looks like a doll.
blond curls pulled back into a bun, little perfect pink leortard, skirt and tights. they stared at her and she stole their hearts.
The teacher motioned for her to come over and the started showing her the moves that the big girls were doing. Layla watched in awe and also followed suit. It was precious.
After about 10 minutes, the shyness wore off and she started prancing around the room looking in the mirrors. It was adorable at first and then there was the funny dynamic of a mamma-reasoning-with-toddler to pay attention and do what the big girls do, when all she really wants to do is pretend she is a prima ballerina.
Overall the class had a really fun laid back lebanese feel. it had the "everyone is welcome" and join in atmosphere that permeates so much of this country. the teacher was sweet, attentive and had good form. so we will go a few more times and see how Claire bear likes it and if we will continue. she kept talking about it that is for sure.
another sweet blessing from the Father...so thankful..
She IS such a doll! She looks like she loved every second!
