a trip up North...
We anticipated ken and Beth coming with a lot of eagerness. It fell at just the right time for us- to get lots of down time with our good friends. a break from our routine to eat fun dinners, talk late into the night and also just have deep deep heart connects.
it is such a blessing to have their wisdom, their love, their support, and their perspective in our lives. everytime they come to visit they really impart something to us...and i feel so taken care of by the Father.
not to mention how much we laugh together. i love that. always been a sucker for people/couples who make me laugh!
Their first day here we took them on a small trip up north to seem some views of Beirut’s coast from the mountain.
As we rode the telefreak ( small cable car that takes you straight up a steep mountiain, Beth nervuosly giggled her height fears away as Ken teased us with worst case scenerios. Layla thought she was flyin, like a fairy.
Then we drove up the coast to Jbayl, the enchanting ancient city and meandered around looking for a lunch spot. We hit the lunch crowd at 2 pm, but we finally stumbled upon a sea side lebanse restaurant and ate to our heart’s content overlooking the harbor.
Then we entered into the roman fortress/ruins and took turns exploring. The girls fell asleep in the stroller, so it was perfect.
the weather was amazing. Beth and I got to really dig deep into our hearts and journeys and it felt like such a exotic setting for our heart connect. Ancient ruins, the sea, the sun shining down on us...a timely, extravagant gift from the One who knows me so well.
and then we wandered back into the old city with the cobblestone roads and let Beth’s longing for coffee lead us to a quaint cafe where we sipped cappicinos and ate delux crepes. soul sigh.
we rolled into church tired, fed, connected, smiling and marveling at what doll babies the girls were being. they did great waiting to eat until 2 pm...napping in a stroller...they were flex to the mex.
what a golden day we had.
Ken is soooo sweet with the girls...
