Listening...
Struck by how much power there is in listening.
For the one who is talking…to be heard. To have a space that
is completely open and safe. For you to bare your soul, to be able to unload
all the things that are weighing so heavily and creating burdens so heavy that
you can’t bear. Just articulating what has happened, what has not happened and
to have someone willing to listen…there is power in the exchange.
To be the one listening. To have the gift to provide a safe,
loving, accepting atmostphere for hurt ones to be able to unload. To share what
is troubling them, images or thoughts or pain so deep it haunts you but
invisible from the outside. To exercise
the power of empathy. Feeling with them through their pain, their trauma. Not
here to advise, or change or problem solve. To listen and love and empathize
and validate. To want to bring just a little bit of light into the dark
carverns in their heart.
Sobered by the beauty
of humanity needing each other to heal. To breathe life and speak Hope into the
most desperate places. Sobered by the things that we as humans can do to each
other.
One person inflicting
pain and trauma, takes others to embrace, love, soften, pray, and let
forgivness rush in. it is a delicate and fragile exchange and I feel so
energized and at the same time so so careful.
Want to be love, want
to bring life. Want to bring healing and even if I just open one door in their
heart to step into more healing, it would such an invaluable treasure.
