Mother's Day

I am aware that the sappy poems about Motherhood and children get me in the gut. That i cry at silly sentimental posts and sometimes have to tell myself to breathe, cause I am so sad that the girls are moving from one phase to the next.

And so i welcome any day, any extra space to just celebrate this thing called Motherhood, and savor all the glory that it can bring, since the mess and work are always so ever-present.

This year instead of putting together intense programs that our cuties have to then...perform, and then also can very easily get nervous and choke, the girls school opted for something different. They created a morning of activities for the mothers to do with their children to create new memories together: to laugh, play games, sing songs, play musical chairs, break into teams and learn new things about one another .

It was really fun, and I loved getting to watch Layla in her world...her friends and teachers, and little interaction, and classrooms...

 Her sweet friend Joelle.

Wanted to find a little hole-in-the-wall that we could eat lunch and kill some time while we waited to go be a part of Sophia's Mother's day program...and ended up sitting and enjoying our manaqueesh.

She is just relaxed and telling me all the ponderings of her heart.  Playing pet store with her friends, and ice cream shop, and lava kids and chase.

loved this old building in the background, with bushes and trees growing in their middle of it..

She did not even complain about all the walking we had to do... she is growing up!

And then Sophia's turn.
It was a smaller, more intimate ordeal, with only her class involved, but also so so sweet.

They showed a video of the kids saying things about their mamas... and Sophia said- My mom is awesome.

Sophia is loved, loved, loved by classmates and teachers and it is so sweet to watch her with all the kids.

I came home, heart full, and just had long cuddles with my cuties....
