Hospital Stay
I like to refer to
this home as running a ship a lot. And this ship…it runs pretty smooth. Sure we have storms, we have turbulent waters,
but most of the times it is what you picture with a long voyage…sun shining and
smooth sailing.
When the storms hit,
though it feels like a gale. Drew
started having nausea and kidney stone symptoms on a wed night and by Sunday we
were in the thick of man –down. Having three littles under 4 needs both parents
– functional. So after 4 days of not having my 1st mate we headed to
an ER- well it was not my stress that drove us there, it was actually a fever.
So to the ER at 10pm,
home at 2 am and up at 6 to get Layla ready for school and then putting the
other two littles in the nursery so I can take drew to an appointment to see if
they can do the less invasive laser surgery. Fat chance.
So we proceed forward
and drew goes into surgery, he will have to stay overnight in the hospital and
I head back home to greet Layla and grab the other girls from their nursery
before it closes.
I take Layla and Fia
up to the hospital and have to beg and I
mean beg for them to allow us to enter.
We went up to his
room and discovered he was not back from surgery which was slightly concerning.
So we decorated and arranged and I made some phone calls and found out he was
in recovery.
He was delirious when he was brought into the room, but grateful for all the small things the girls had brought him and we were so happy to see him!
He came home the next day and it was so sad that he had to be in the hospital by himself, but with three little tooters, one being breastfed there was really no other option.
So now 3/5 Caldwells have been hospitalized in 2014- I was in for 2 nights for my c-section, Layla was in for 4 night for her appendix being removed, and now Drew for one night. Record!
