Girl's day
I should probably
call this day “women’s day” but just
makes me feel to old.
The gals on our team had a really fabulous opportunity to
get away, spend time together to mark the beginning of a whole new season. With
Rem and Val and their girls being gone, Kopkes just landing from being in the
states for 4 months, and then Lebeaus just landing…we had to commemorate.
We started with
pumpkin spice lattes at Startbucks and I had asked Nuna to join us. I so love
what Nuna carries her passionate kingdom heart, her love for her 5 children,
her call for prayer and worship, how she is pastoring a small church and yet
pioneering aid for refugees. She is impressive.
Having intentional time with her, where we can ask questions and learn
from her wisdom, go deeper in friendship
and hear her thoughts on life, it was what I wanted for one of our elements of
the day.
We then grabbed wraps
and set of to have a picnic lunch on the beach.
It was a sunny almost hot day for November. We ate our lunch and chatted
and then I had us each take time alone, away from our kids and chaos to reflect
and dream .
We then gathered and
shared thoughts, dreams of our hearts, and places of vulnerability. I love what
comes out of these women when asked, I love the rivers that flow from their
hearts. I love hearing what God has been speaking to them about, love joining
arms with them to bring His kingdom here together.
It is powerful that
each one of these women have left comfort, family, and jobs because they want
to reach a war torn country and refugees. I am sitting on the beach with women
full of grit and passion, focus and commitment.
After our this hear
time, we wandered around the ancient city of Byblos and then dined at our fancy
real-deal Mexican restaurant that overlooks the sea. What a treat.
We ended the night
with having a power team of women come and pray over us. It was overwhelmingly
encouraging and exactly how I wanted our time to end…filled with hope and
promise for this next season.
