sisters...

nothing like a sister. a best friend, a buddy, a listening ear, a dance partner. these girls are daily getting closer and bonding more and more...

Layla's response to Hope has been very true to first born nature. She is always wanting to hold her, burp her, help in any way she can.

Hope receives this nurturing with no real resistance.

Layla also sings to her often

But this sisterhood is not without some fireworks. not without some darting back and forth as they chase for the doll they both want. or perhaps some screaming, hitting and biting from a particular two.year.old.

they try and play on their own, but the gravitational pull is always pulling them towards each other...
I hear Layla calling " Fia!!! Fia!!! time for class! " and little cutie drops whatever thing she has in her hand and runs her adorable run down the hallway .
Or when Layla is at school and Fia asks me about 10 times ..." when layla gets back..." and she always hops with excitement about that.
Hope is getting invited into some fun-loving, pretend- playing, dress -up, giggling, dancin sisters.

My favorite sister  bond of late is their love of all things  "Frozen ".  i find them all over the house in different beds re- enacting their favorite scene
" wake up elsa  wake up!"
" go back to sleep anna"
" i can't the sky is awake , so i am awake"
" go play by yourself" and one of them pushes the other off their stomach
then they open the sleeping elsa's eye and say
" do you want to build a snowman?"

aware that the crying, pushing, claiming of things as mine, is all a part of the process... and that the reality is these sisters are each other's best friends.
