friends living close

we all know that we were created for community. for deep family. to be known and to know...to be loved and to love.

living here with our close friends is so rich. it means we see every side of each other. dressed up, house clothes, early mornings, late evenings, meals and holidays, and prayer times. we have cried with each other over bad news from home, or things that happen to friends here. we have cried to one another about real struggles and language frustrations and middle of the night feeds.

we are 6 years in and learning that we can naturally bring up observations to each other - parenting, scheduling, meals...but also recognize the need for space and breathing room and when to just be silent and let each other work out the kinks.

our kids love and sharpen each other like true siblings/cousins/besties do. They talk incessantly about going to each other's house and then throw tantrums the first moment we arrive. The in and out of daily life here is made so much sweeter by having close friends that are journeying with you...who know your friends, know the culture, know the challenges and rave about the gems you can find only here.
