1st day of Preschool

as much as i do not want lose a minute from being with you... how you have been my buddy through and through...i know you are going to love this. i see you reaching out and wanting friends at the playground...at church...and you can’t communicate with them. I know having you at preschool is going to be a place where you can learn, grow, discover, and learn how to play with all the littles running around.

but i can’t believe the Bear is almost 4. you are still 3. i will say 3 until the day of your birthday, cause i will savor each moment of your 3 year old self.

I was nervous, you were excited. You wanted a “side braid like Lainey” and then you found a head band and some rubberbands to accessorize. i love your flare.

then your little brave self marched out the door with Rem, Val and Novi. Fia and i cried. and then we both fell asleep....?

but when i woke up, i woke up envisioned. to let you know how special this is. to make a moment. to let you know how much this family loves you and will miss you. I sure did not have a special breakfast ready for you at 6 am...but we were going to have a little party for you when you came home.

Sophia and i lovingly decorated...we wrapped up a book Gigi had bought you for this very day. I pulled down a present i had been waiting to give you two- a chalkboard table cloth...and we went and bought some of your favorite treats.
i also attempted to make little apple sugar cookies.

and you were still not home yet. we had done so much. wow.

and so then we lined up some of your favorite dolls and stuffed animals and wanted to tell you just how much we missed your presence.

in the midst of getting ready, house looking like a tornadoe hit it, kitchen exploding with a hurried mama’s creation of cookies...the doorbell rings. one of my Arab neighbors. sigh. there is nothing to do. i will not compromise the moment of getting things ready for Claire Bear...so i invite her in, but bustle around.

getting a little preview, of course, as the helper...

I still had to serve her drinks, cookies, and talk to her, but i just bustled around cleaning up, and putting my finishing touches. She definately had never seen anything like this, and was very astounished...ha!

but when you walked in,  we hugged you fiercely and cheered that you were home. We showed you the line of dolls/toys leading you to your  “welcome home table”. you loved it. it was the perfect way to show you that we absolutley adore you.

and we do, LuLu, we do...

you had a great first day,  you told us all about it. The teachers said you did great, and you wanted to go back the next day. And all afternoon/evening i heard you playing school with your babies. Telling me" This is your little girl, Beth, she did great, she did not cry at all. "

it has begun..
