musings of a 2 year old...

this post is dedicated to grandmas that live across oceans and aunts and uncles. =)

as we pull into our parking spot
CB: O my gosh! o my gosh! can you believe it?
Us: what?
CB: we're home!

i sang her "part of this world" from the Little Mermaid
Cb: mama, that's beautiful. i love your voice.

CB: Layla's baba's princess
Me: what are you for momma?
CB: mamma's buddy!

after arriving to our grocery store/or coming home from places
thank  you Jesus!

she brought in a puzzle piece and was holding it close to her heart
singing: Layla puts this piece on her heart
asks: mamma want to?  (like it was the best idea in the world)

common phrases:

"i gotta an idea" with big wide eyes
"whatcha gonna do"
" sure!"
"that's awesome"
"uh...yeah...sure!"
"how 'bout?...."
" i love you big mister!"
"yum this is delicious"
"mama whatcha laughin about?"

when my family called late one night
CB: hey guys...layla see you in America!

sophia was playing with some of Claire's play food ( a green bean)
CB: oh! baba sings "baba going to give you a can of green beans, and if those green beans turn brown, you are still the cutest girl in town. "
this was confirmed by baba later. =) weird lyric for hush baby!

I took her with me to go running at the cornishe and she stood at the rails and yelled:
CB: mermaids where are you? you're beautiful! i miss you! come here!!!

the morning after the fighting broke out in Beirut, it was tense in our house as we called and checked on friends:
she was being fussy and probably just wanted extra attention.
Us:  Layla girl why are you being so fussy?
CB: I'm SO sad. Layla's having a hard day.
