adjusting to New life...
so in juggling the many things that one might be ( or is) juggling these days, the blogging has suffered. i am sorry. and then there seems to be so much to say...where to begin....but alas. i am going to start. and hopefully keep a bit more on top of things since we now have internet in the home.
we did it. we found a home. Drew, the other husbands and Sarah searched the streets for over 7 days for our home. the stakes felt a bit higher this time, we knew what we did and did not want, and we have kids. so you think through a different lens. But after many different "viewings" and going over and over our options, we found our home. our new beirut home. and we love it.
We live on the 9th floor and the Molls live on the 10th. there is a Nigerian Embassy worker that lives on the 1st floor and the rest of the building is empty. so that is strange. We have amazing views of the city from our many balconies. and so far almost every night we have eaten dinner outside, because that is where Claire Bear is happiest. she loves eating outside. she loves watching the birds flying at our eye level and all the sounds and sights from up here.
After the initial "finding" and moving in ( which means some cleaning) we started from scratch. all we had was a our guest bed and mattress for the whole house. Shopping was fun, exhilarating and overwhelming as we made huge purchases- couches, fridge, stove, bed...and more.
claire the bear's personality just blossomed once we moved in. she loved the space, the views, that we took most of her toys out and she could just roam. she walks from room to room just exploring, and talking. not quite sure what she is saying, but we know she is happy.
