buddies

the baby boom has been such a crazy whirlwind that sometimes i have to stop and just notice

the change that it has brought to our dynamics.

for instance...switching off with fellow parents for date nights. the coordinating of nights with other parents and packing up babies with food and blankets and gear and feeling relieved and free to enjoy your spouse for a whole evening. ahh....

claire loves the times we watch the kiddos, she loves having her buddies around. her and Rivers have a particular bond. it is called : curious, energetic, need- stimulation and new toys- bond. when claire takes a toy from Rivers, he reaches for it back. it is pretty cute. two peas in a pod, they are.

and then birthday parties take on a different flare. more of a ...kids event, if you will.

for kelly's birthday- we all went to a restaurant. the kids were amazing - thank you very much.

and the after-party at the White's place...feels a bit different than the ol' days when it was just grown ups...

so fun to have our littles laughing, squirming, shrieking, and crawling all around us.
