things i love...

As we close out May, drew graduated language school, we are preparing for the trip to Lebanon ahead of us...i have had some great classic moments.

Like...relaxing and laughing with claire in no rush the morning of graduation, because we had plenty of time. but as i prepared the salad i was suppose to bring, and little unexpected time grabbers appeared, of course i am running around with hair in every manner of dissarray, needing to dress, change and feed claire, and not dressed myself with 20 minutes on the clock.

As i donned the sailor skirt, the one i love and wore 6 May's earlier for nursing school graduation, i realized that it looked...slightly wrinkled, ahem. i remembered a trick of Debi's to spray febreeze to smooth out the wrinkles. in my hustle and bustle, i sprayed febreeze...too close to the skirt and then had a huge wet spot. funny.

i love holding and cuddling a dressed up bear during her dad's graduation. she stayed smiley, cute, sweet, and cuddly for 2 whole hours. charmed all the people that sat around us with her smiles and curious blue eyes.

i love bonding moments that remind me of my new life. like...later that night at chilis, after much patience on claire's part, she begin to exhibit the signs of hunger. we already had one mom nursing at the table, and i felt like 2 might just tip the scale and make our table...way-to-weird. So, i grabbed my babe and bee-lined for the bathroom. We sat together and she ate ravenously and afterwards looked up at me with gratefulness and love shining from her eyes, i was mesmerized. then she threw up. she managed to miss her dress, and her burp cloth but land all over my sailor skirt. it was then i thought, "trying to look celeb- fab has it's costs. hard to pull of with a baby". =)

i love making a Mexican feast for a Russian nun. and not just any Russian nun. my Russian nun. maria, who is in our Arabic class, and is everything that a nun should be. it was her first taste of Mexican food and she had heard me talking about Mexican the last 2 semesters, so she was intrigued. and let's just say that she was not disappointed. southwest black bean egg rolls, homemade salsa, homemade tortillas, delicious refried beans, and rice. i was so curious about her life and on what it was like growing in communist Russia and choosing her life as a nun.

i love going on jogs with my sweet baby and just being outside in the beautiful weather. taking in the shining sun and the cooling wind.

i love celebrating our dearest yessica's birthday and playing dutch games. like trying to translate their sayings and guess their meanings. so fun to learn more of the dutch-doins.

i love going on late night visits with a cuddled up bear, who has shown herself worthy to socialize late into the evening hours..=)

life is good.
