dream land

when jet lag gets you down, when you babe has to go to the ER. then plastic surgeon, then get something removed from her face...all in one week...when you have guests staying with you and you might just need a way to unwind and be together no interruptions...there is one place to go.

our favorite.

the women's beach.

how we love thee. let me count the ways.

we love that we are able to get to you in 30 minutes, we walk in with our one bag and snacks and we see your pools and playgrounds, and gorgeous beach and wonderful women with their babes and we might just jump for joy.

we play and play and play. we talk to tons of people, but mostly it is us three. we talk and giggle and play and pretend and swim. I delight in Layla's new found freedom in the water and increased ability to talk in arabic. how she talks to kids and slides down the high slides. i kiss fia all day long and squeeze her little chub as thought it's my last day to be able to. i love watching both of them and how they interact with the ocean and sand. I flash back to when they were babies and i took them here.

we run to the dance hut and dance for all of five minutes but then move on.

we talk to cute little kids and we snack and we drink in the sun and sea and that we get to do whatever we feel like doing for as long as we feel like doing it. there is so much freedom and care-freeness and it is the very heart of what childhood is made of. I relish the time, the words we exchange, the jumps and the shouts of  "mama, look at me! " mama watch me!" i love floating in the sea and talking of mermaids and pirates and holding fia close to me.

it was the dream day, and i have to soak those in. Cause we all know that motherhood is full of all kinds of days...so let the dream days be the ones we savor for years...
