family days
in the midst of our exciting new seasons, of having friends stay with us, of meeting new people, of going up to refugee camps...we have seen the need for special little escapes as a family.
i love the everyday. hearing layla sing songs she is making up.
i love hearing sophia patter after her and pat her baby doll's head and say "bebe".
i love our discussions over meals. i love reading books together and dance parties.
but the memories we go out and make. priceless.
there is the beach days. we had a beach breakthrough with Sophia. We had been numerous times and Sophia had...not really enjoyed it, to put it lightly. She had sat on the towel the whole time and sort of whimpered.
and then one day, i went with our sweet nannies from America and the Johnsons- and Sophia was squealing with delight the whole time. what caused this marvelous change? time. we went earlier in the morning and she was delightful. noted. before she was sleepy/tired- this kid was letting waves crash on her and running all over the sand. thankful for beach babes.
going to the park has been equally bonding because we have brave girls.
i love raising brave girls!
although it is pretty much drew and i splitting up and chasing our darlings...it feels so fun and adventurous to be outside playing together.
