New Year's Eve

i have to confess. all my energy, excitement, holiday matriarch-ness came to a crashing halt after christmas. probably having a baby, thanksgiving, throwing claire's 2 year old birthday party, helping with Ismay's arrival...then christmas eve and christmas. i was pretty much too wiped to go big.

so i made spinach artichoke pasta, homemade bread...and xallas, as they saw in arabic. i was done.

we invited people for a prayer-worship-dance party. it was awesome. it was simple. we did not plan any snacks/food. just coming together to be together. sigh.

we got a little hungry later in the evening so we sent drew (?) to go buy snacks for the group. he came back with 4 bags of chips. ahem.

pretty funny. we made popcorn and decided to let loose and dance in the new year.

it was fun, really fun.

we decided this is definately a sign of the stage of life we are in: baby monitors by the ipod speakers.

and to our glorious surprise we could see amazing fireworks from our balcony- such a treat!
i love that we did nothing. that being together was more important than anything else. that we could pray and worship and then transition to dancing...it was so so fun.
